We talk a lot about MEL – Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning. Yet in practice, the L is often the least visible part of the trio. Monitoring generates data. Evaluation helps us make sense of it and may lead to recommendations. But the real value comes when that evidence is actively used: to adjust an intervention, shape organisational decisions, inform a future project, or strengthen the skills and practice of colleagues. And while this does not always happen, we have seen inspiring examples where it does.

In our consultancy work, we have come across organisations and teams that have found practical ways to turn monitoring and evaluation into genuine learning – and to make that learning useful for decisions and future action. In this webinar, we will share some of those examples. We will look at what made them work and what others might take from them. The aim is to spark ideas for how you can strengthen the connection between the data you collect, the learning it generates and the decisions it can inform.
