Catholic institutions in Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa needed stronger prevention and response systems to violence against children, while keeping implementation aligned across diverse church structures and partners. MDF designed and delivered MEL support for the programme, including participatory refinement of the Theory of Change, development of a results-based MEL framework, and coordination of monitoring and learning across three countries. We strengthened partner capacity in MEL and facilitated regular reflection to document adaptations and improve decision-making. Mid-term and end-term evaluations assessed outcome-level change using outcome harvesting, contribution analysis, appreciative inquiry, and results-chain analysis, generating practical lessons and good practices for future safeguarding work.

Agriterra’s Acting Now for Food Security programme advances food and nutrition security for smallholder farmers and their cooperatives, with a particular focus on women and youth in six African countries. Agriterra wanted a baseline and impact evaluation, and stronger clarity on how cooperative strengthening could contribute to food security outcomes. MDF designed and implemented the baseline study, including a household survey in Northern Ghana among female shea nut cooperative members, and facilitated a consultative process to develop the programme’s Theory of Change. In 2026, MDF started the impact evaluation of the same programme.
