The Shopner Sharothi (Girls Education and Skills Partnership) program, in collaboration with UNICEF and the Jaago Foundation Trust (JFT), aims to empower 11,000 girls and young women (aged 14-25) in Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban by providing comprehensive vocational training and life skills development. The project addresses critical challenges such as gender-based violence, early marriage, and limited access to education by equipping participants with employable skills in IT, entrepreneurship, and retail services. Through Girls-Only Learning Centers and innovative programs like the Seashore Girls Surfer Hub, young women gain both technical expertise and leadership skills, ensuring their long-term empowerment and economic opportunities.

MDF has been instrumental in driving the success of this initiative. By managing the entire project cycle—from conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNA) to designing tailored curricula and facilitating Training of Trainers (ToT)—MDF ensures the program’s sustainability and impact. MDF’s focus on gender equality, youth empowerment, and community ownership has created a foundation that not only equips participants with practical skills but also prepares them for leadership roles, helping them break barriers and access better opportunities in their communities.
