Evaluation in Suriname and Ghana
MDF (Head Office) is currently in Suriname to evaluate the project Return and Reintegration of Undocumented, which is executed by the Foundation Maatwerk bij Terugkeer and (ex) Foundation Mondiale Samenwerking. MDF will assess the functioning of the local partner and monitor the situation of returnees. Simultaneously MDF West Africa executes the same type of research in Ghana. MDF completes the evaluation in June.

Upgrading of the Kilimanjaro International Airport
MDF Eastern & Southern Africa (ESA) has started work in the Orio funded project aiming at the upgrading of Kilimanjaro International Airport. Together with Schiphol Group MDF ESA is developing a training plan for improved and sustainable maintenance operations.

On the road for SPARK
Trainer/Consultant Jolanda Buter is executing an evaluation for SPARK in Kosovo from 7-12 May concerning the effect and impact of a private international business college in a fragile state. She is the teamleader of a mixed team of experts (nationality, background and expertise) and uses both quantitative and qualitative methods in order to collect data (figures, quotes, experiences etc.) for this evaluation. 

Call for papers by Centre for Migration studies
Centre for Migration studies, supported by Nuffic NPT project executed by the consortium MDF/ISS/Radboud University, is organising the conference "Migration and Development: Opportunities and Challanges in a Globalized World" (19-20 June, Accra, Ghana) and has launched  a "Call for papers". Researchers, practitioners, graduate students are invited to submit a paper for the conference. Download the call or contact Prof. Peter Quartey.

New contract Min. of Trade & Industry Ghana
On 23rd April MDF West Africa has signed the contract with the Ministry of Trade & Industry Ghana for the implementation of the project: Value Chain Analysis of the Ghanaian Tourism sector (6 months project, World Bank financing).

MDF West Africa moves to a new office
MDF West Africa will move back, per 1st May 2012, to its cosy office where it started two years ago: 8 First Street Kuku Hill (OSU). MDF WA director Marie-José Niesten: "You are most welcome to visit us!"
