Change Management Processes
Organisations are continually facing and dealing with new challenges requiring adjustments and change. However, the implications of even minor changes are regularly under-estimated by senior management, in particular when it comes to managing the human dimension of change constructively.
Participants
You are working in an organisation or public institution undergoing change which may have significant consequences for future operation and staffing responsibilities. Or you may be responsible for providing funding or technical support to organisations undergoing change processes as a desk officer or an external consultant. Or you may simply want to get a better practical overview of change management approaches in order to enhance your management skill set.
Course Objectives
You will be equipped with practical approaches and skills to diagnose and understand change processes and assess organisational readiness for change; what are the main drivers, dynamics and pitfalls of change processes, how to prepare in advance for this process? Another key element is how to deal constructively and supportively with resistance to change, using dialogue and engagement, and potentially turning resistance into a source of support. You will also practice designing the basic elements of a change management plan with clear steps and indicators as your road map for on-going monitoring and follow up.
