Capacity WORKS
MDF together with AIZ, the Akedemie für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (Academy for International Cooperation) offer in EDE:
Capacity WORKS certification courses:

Capacity WORKS* is GIZ's management model for sustainable development. This method supports the steering and management of international cooperation projects.
All GIZ projects revolve around the objectives jointly negotiated by the cooperating partners, and the sustainable results that are expected to emerge from them. Capacity WORKS defines five success factors (strategy, cooperation, steering structure, processes, learning and innovation) toward which the management of projects and programmes is systematically oriented throughout the entire process. Using key questions for each success factor, the results of the interventions in question can then be continuously monitored, reflected upon and, where appropriate, corrected.
Structuring a project by using Capacity WORKS creates greater transparency at all levels at any given point in time. The structuring and cyclic results-based monitoring offered by Capacity WORKS raise the quality of international cooperation projects, facilitate their management and promote the professionalisation of all partners involved.
In order also to guarantee the future compatibility of the consulting sector with the work of GIZ in this respect, it is compulsory (with effect from 1 April 2010) to include Capacity WORKS as a criterion in the award of contracts to the consulting sector.
This means:
Capacity WORKS has to be specified as a requirement in the terms of reference, and the rating scheme for the evaluation of bids submitted to GIZ is aligned with the logic of the five success factors of Capacity WORKS.
This will include in particular the integration of Capacity WORKS in the design of the offer, the backstopping and training of the selected personnel or the composition of the team with respect to the proposed measure.
GIZ has taken initiatives since 2009 to ensure that individual consultants and companies in the consulting sector have access to appropriate training opportunities. Following an invitation to tender, MDF Training and Consultancy is commissioned to act as one of the multipliers by offering a wide range of Capacity WORKS training measures on behalf of GIZ. For more information have a look at the GIZ website.

MDF and Capacity WORKS
MDF is proud to have been selected as one of the few providers who can train consultants and advisers in the understanding and practice of the model. Regularly we organise training courses in Ede (in English) or in Brussels (in French). More information on the courses and dates can be found on the course page: Capacity WORKS - Certification Course.
Certificate of participation
Each participant in a Capacity WORKS training measure shall receive a certificate of participation. This certificate qualifies and enables participants to integrate Capacity WORKS into their work for and with GIZ. This means they are then able to harmonise their professional consultancy services with the Capacity WORKS management model. The training measures do not, however, enable or entitle participants to act as multipliers and themselves train others in Capacity WORKS.
Tailor-made Capacity WORKS courses
Besides the open subscription Basic Certification Course, MDF offers tailor-made courses for consultancy companies or groups of at least eight participants. The advantages of a tailor-made course include:
- the possibility to determine training dates, duration (min. 3 days) and location at your own convenience,
- the possibility to tailor the content of the training to your specific learning needs and interests,
- the possibility to have the training conducted in a language of your choice (German, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch).
