Advisory and consultancy support activities extend over a wide range and include support provided in the following areas:
HRM policy and HRM systems
A solid HRM policy and system is essential for the effectivity of your organisation. MDF consultants offer assistance in the development and implementation of HRM policies and systems. We can help you developing the most appropriate structure for your organisation and provide (in-company) training in skills required managing staff effectively.
Portfolio and Project Management
Project Cycle Management is a well-established and proven method for the adequate management of programmes and
projects. It raises the quality of programming and decision-making by providing a management system that is shared and
owned by all stakeholders. As such, it facilitates better management of individual interventions, as well as a more
effective and efficient management of entire portfolios.
In PCM, the design process is key. Experience show that regardless of the competency at the implementation stage poorly
designed project has little chance of success. We assist organisations with the design processes of projects and
programmes by using the logical framework approach so that objectives are clearly stated and progress and performance
indicators identified. We also provide open subscription and tailor-made courses in PCM to improving project design
skills and capacity in donor organisations, partner countries and civil society organisations.
Quality Management
Today, international organisations, funding agencies and the general public ask for better governance,
accountability and transparency of development organisations. In this new climate, NGOs and public organisations face
challenges to improving the quality and performance of their organisation.
MDF consultants know the current management methods and approaches for improvement of quality and performance of
organisations. They can advice you how to take advantage of the capacity of your organisation to develop and implement
strategic solution and to improve the internal quality assurance process.
Coaching
From our experience we know that managers sometimes need a little bit more than a course or an advice to come to
performance improvement. Managers often find themselves in a lonely position, not having a sounding board or people to
talk to about doubts they come across in their work.
In these cases, we offer coaching. Very often you may have ideas on how possibly you can handle things in a better way.
But you do not always want to, nor can you afford to, gain your insight through trial and error. In coaching you will
find your coach asking you clarifying and critical questions, sharing experiences and inviting you to think broader.
MDF coaches will help to find new options and together you can think through possible consequences. The coaching can be
done in face to face sessions, but also through email contact
