Concept and Learning by experience
MDF Training and Consultancy can offer a wide spectrum of 'learning adventures' to practical organisations and enterprises in the agricultural sector.
Concept and Learning by experience
This 'learning adventures' concept is based on the fact that active professionals and especially senior managers often learn and absorb more by experiencing new issues than by learning about these issues in a classroom setting. By being confronted with the issues at stake and through direct discussions with stakeholders dealing with these issues in a real life setting, the challenges are significantly more direct and participants immediately can reflect on what those topics can mean for themselves and their own organisation .
A 'learning adventure' is a well prepared and balanced combination of classroom introductions, visits to relevant organisations, discussions with colleagues at these organisations, exposure visits, guided group discussions and/or individual assignments. Back in the course group all the experiences are brought together, critically assessed and transformed into concrete action plans for the organisations relevant for the participant.
Particularly for tailor made courses, such a combination can be very substantial and essential. For example combining Project Cycle Management (PCM) with Rural Development will be substantially enriched by contacts with real practice in the Dutch countryside or in neighbouring regions
Learning by experiencing is meant for senior managers. Managers who have to adapt their organisations to new realities or who are confronted with completely new challenges or who consider adjustments, changes or modernisation in their own organisation or sector and need to benchmark their change strategy with the actual situation and experiences elsewhere. The programmes can be entirely tailored to the needs of the requesting organisation making use of MDF's 'learning adventure' in the 'Food Valley' where companies can be visited in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany or Britain.
The programme is particularly interesting for organisations in countries that have recently joined the EC or those preparing for accession. Accession often means the introduction of drastic and sometimes even dramatic changes. The 'learning adventure' offers the opportunity to meet organisations that have performed the 'Dutch miracle and a window into the future.
MDF has developed a few skeleton programmes of 5-8 days on Rural Development, the 'Food Valley' and the 'Dutch Miracle', covering Agricultural Transformation and Specialisation, Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Rural Development Practices, Public Private Partnerships, Organisation of Civil Society and Water Resources Management.
However, if you are interested in other, perhaps more specialised issues such as agro-processing, food technologies, animal fodder production, sports promotion or a specific chapter of the Acquis Communautaire, the programme can be adapted to your needs. You will be surprised what MDF can do for you!.
