Alumni Association in Nigeria
Participants from Nigeria who took part in courses at MDF in the past, would like to stay in touch with each other. They want to analyse what could be their common objectives. What kind of activities is the group interested in. Who would want to organise these.
Please give your ideas, suggestions and impressions. Do not forget to mention the course you were in.

Reply #5 :: Re" MDF Alumni Members in Nigeria
by Olusesan Olukoya, on Friday November 27, 2009Dear All,
There have been lots of contributions over the past weeks. Oladeji Awonaya suggested that we should start to collate mails, phone numbers, location and other relevant information of the MDF Alumni members and make a zonal segmentation to be able to know the figures of alumni in each zones in Nigeria. He also suggested that we should secure and contact the alumni members in Lagos to test run the first meeting in the first quarter of next year so as to enable the other zones to follow suit. Sr. Josephine Balogun SND also felt that we have not been judiciously making use of the MDF weblog as we ought to. “The space created for us on the MDF Home page is indeed very good and I know we do not use it as much as we ought to.” She said. She added that we need to start meeting as soon as possible by next year.
These are good suggestions and it would be appreciated if others can as well send in their contributions so as to have more reactions of almost everybody.
We need to discuss with the MDF Management about the possibility of having a seminar or a tailor made training for 2010 but not until we have met as a group to discuss this possibility among ourselves.
Thank you all and please do respond so as to know the way forward.

by Sr. Balogun Josephine, on Thursday October 15, 2009Dear All,
My name is Sr. Josephine Balogun, a catholic nun.
I work as the programme officer/provincial secretary of the Justice Development and Peace/Caritas, Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province.
I was in MDF in November 2008 for project and Programme Management and Administration (PPMA)
It was quite enriching. The trainers were very efficient and the administrative staff were very good too.
I thank the NUFFIC Alumni for creating this special page for us to get to know ourselves and to share our stories. Also to see how we could best organise ourselves.
The knowledge I gained from MDF has been very helpful to me in my day to day activity and tasks.
One of the the projects I planned to carry out when I get back to my organisation last year was to review our stragetic plan to see if it still make meaning to us in our present situation. Or if its still helping us to keep focus or loosing focus. During the review, we discovered that we needed to have a new strategic plan that we could work with and which we could own as our document and be able to work with it. Thank God the strategic plan workshop took place last week. We invited experts from different organisations to help us facilitate the process. Please God, we expect to have the final document before the end of the month.
We have participants from all the seven dioceses and three states covered by our province to attend the programme. It was very tedious but now we will be glad to call the document ours as it has the contributions of those who are going to implement it.
With the knwoledge I gained from MDF, I knew what the strategic plan entails and how to prepare our participants to in advance to be able to have a better result.
Thank you all and please let us keep in touch.
Warmest regards,
Sr. Josephine Balogun SND
