Funding

MDF is not in the position to grant nor able to assist in obtaining a sponsorship for training purposes. You can download a list of possible funding agencies here.

NFP Fellowships

For a number of courses MDF Training & Consultancy has reached an agreement with NUFFIC (Netherlands organisation for international co-operation in higher education) for a limited number of fellowships through the Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP, managed by Nuffic). Nuffic has a list of 60 countries from which nationals can apply for a scholarship.

Applying for a scholarship does not mean that you will be selected. Nuffic grants only about 10% of the applications. If your organisation is not in a position to fund your participation, you can apply for the NFP scholarship.

The Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) fellowships are available for the following MDF training courses (click on the title for more information):

You can dowload a flyer with general information on the courses and the deadlines for application here (2.5 MB)
Please have a look at the NFP brochure on the Nuffic site and for the upcoming deadlines, consult the dates at the bottom of this page.

NFP Application process

The evaluation criteria by Nuffic can be found on the website of Nuffic: www.nuffic.nl/nfp. Here you also need to register in the system: Scholarship Online (SOL) and upload the required information: employment letter, copy of passport, etc.

Apart from these criteria, you need to fit to the MDF course that you have selected: the academic requirements. In the application form you can find the Nuffic criteria and a form to be completed with you motivation and description of you activities and that of your organisation.

A complete set consists of:

  • the MDF application form that you can download here.
  • Un updated Curriculum Vitae of maximum 2 pages (more pages will not be accepted)
  • Results of a language test. Whether this is applicable to you, see the application form with more details.

You send the complete set to Mariet Arentsen, registration officer of NFP: registration@mdf.nl

Only complete applications (SOL and application documents) will be reviewed. In SOL, MDF will indicate whether you have a provisional acceptance from MDF.

Further procedure

The selection procedure continues as follows:

  1. MDF indicates your provisional acceptance in SOL: yes/no
  2. Dutch Emabassy in your country indicates provisional acceptance in SOL: yes/no
  3. Nuffic through SOL does an eligibility check for each candidate
  4. Nuffic decides on budget available for each NFP country
  5. MDF and the Dutch Embassy do a scoring on each of the eligible candidates
  6. SOL does a ranking for candidates in each country based on the ranking of both MDF and Embassy and decides who of the candidates can be awarded a scholarship
  7. Nuffic asks candidates whether they can accept the scholarship

The whole process takes about 16 weeks starting from the deadline date of the course you selected.

In co-operation with the Netherlands embassy or consulate, MDF makes all further arrangements with the fellowship recipients.

Message from Nuffic:

SOL is now open for applications for Short Courses with the fellowship applications deadline of 1 October 2011. This is also published on our website.

We kindly ask you to refer prospective candidates to our website www.nuffic.nl/nfp. On the website candidates can find relevant and necessary information on the procedures and how to apply. We kindly ask you not to send the direct link of SOL to the candidates as it is essential that candidates read the available information before applying online.

  • Candidates can apply online for an NFP fellowship through our website www.nuffic.nl/nfp. On the menu on the left hand side, they can select  the programme for which they want to apply a fellowship for (master's degree programmes, PhD studies, short courses). Then candidates can select  ‘Application procedure’. Here they will find the link 'prepare an application'.
  • The SOL user manual for candidates can be found via www.nuffic.nl/nfp-sol and they can find the frequently asked questions via www.nuffic.nl/nfp-faq

If candidates have any questions after reading our website they can contact us through www.nuffic.nl/contact. We will do our best to answer all questions of prospective candidates.

Candidates that do not have (sufficient) access to internet can apply with a paper application form. The paper fellowship application form can also be found on our website and must be sent directly to Nuffic and be received by our office before 1 September 2011. Paper applications received after this date will not be considered for a fellowship.
