The Global Compact is a voluntary initiative that seeks to advance universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption through the active engagements of the corporate community, in cooperation with civil society and representatives of organized labour.
Companies join the Global Compact because they share the conviction that business practices rooted in universal principles contribute to a more stable and inclusive global market and help build prosperous and thriving societies.
Participation in the UN Global Compact is a visible commitment to implementation, disclosure, and promotion of ten universal principles.
The Communication on Progress (COP) is an annual disclosure through which a business informs stakeholders about its efforts in implementing the United Nations Global Compact and its principles.
As the central component of the Global Compact’s integrity measures, the COP’s main objective is to communicate publicly on continuous performance improvement.
In March 2011, MDF has submitted its Communication on Progress to the UN Global Compact and can be viewed on this web page: UN Global Compact, COP MDF
