MDF South Asia Summer Academy
The Summer Academy aims to enhance the capacity of national and international professionals as well as young international professionals as well as young international volunteers and interns working in the development and public sector. The Academy has three different modules. Each module takes three days and will take place during the summer months from July to September.
Objectives
- To enhance the technical capacity of professional in the development and public sector
- learn and practise of technical tools (project management and organisational strengthening and institutional development)
- Improvement of team leader skills and techniques
Content of the Modules
Module I - Managing Development
This module is an introductory course on managing development projects. It is designed to equip the participant with skills and a basic knowledge in problem, objective and stakeholder analysis techniques, developing a logical framework, designing indicators and assumptions as well as getting an overview of monitoring, evaluation and budgeting.
Module II - Team Leadership Development
This is particularly for those who want to hone their skills as Team Leader. The training is designed to enhance the skills of a manager in communication, feedback as well as how to facilitate meetings. You will also learn more about the tasks and roles of a manager.
Module III - Monitoring & Evaluation
This module gives participants an insight into project monitoring and evaluation (M&E). Module III briefs participants on how to design a monitoring plan, define information needs and the structure of project information flow. An overview of how to conduct an evaluation is given as well as how to understand the 5 evaluation criteria relative to your project.
