About MDF Pacific-Indonesia (MDF-PI)

MDF goes Bali!

MDF Pacific-Indonesia has been set up to cater for the increasing demand of our clients in the Indonesia and Pacific region for management training and consulting services. Already for years MDF has been working in Indonesia and the Pacific region, providing our services to clients there. MDF's regionalization strategy, aiming to bring adapted and contextualized services closer to our clients, has now resulted in a full-fledged training and consulting branch-office on Bali, with expatriate as well as Indonesian trainers and consultants.
Furthermore, MDF-PI  manages four long-term projects strengthening various universities and polytechnics in Eastern Indonesia. We feel that this combination of managing projects ourselves and  conducting short-term management training and consulting services gives us the hands-on experience our clients are looking for.

Mission and Approach

Our mission is to contribute to a better performance of organizations, projects and programs, by improving their managerial and organizational capacities. MDF Pacific-Indonesia aims to blend modern management theory and tools with practical experience in development organisations and businesses worldwide. Our approach in training as well as in consultancy is of a practical nature, rich in visual elements and characterised by ensuring maximum participation through interactive methods, thus creating practical and applicable results and ownership.

MDF-PI will also operate as a project management office. On behalf of institutional donors we will manage and implement development projects and programs. Currently, we are managing four long-term projects to strengthen higher educational institutes in Eastern Indonesia. MDF-PI will be managing these four year (2009-2012) education projects. These projects in Eastern Indonesia operate in the Indonesian public administration reform context, leading to a shift in responsibilities from the government to the education institutions. They deal with management, HRM/D, revenue generation and curriculum improvement. They assist universities to become transparent, accountable, professional and competency-based universities.
Capacity strengthening topics of our education projects
These projects are aiming at two complementary general objectives:

  • Improvement of education, research and community services

MDF Pacific-Indonesia Project Inauguration Meeting

MDF-PI, the Bali-based branch office of MDF for the Indonesia and Pacific region, has started operating from the 1st of January 2010. This full-fledged branch office not only provides the well-known MDF training and consulting services, but is also the project management office for four large NUFFIC-funded education projects that are managed by MDF.

On 7 and 8 January 2010 the opening of the MDF-PI office was celebrated together with our Indonesian project partners. At the same meeting new project management modalities were discussed and opportunities for further collaboration were explored.

The MDF-PI office looks forward to a successful collaboration with our project partners and to a "well-managed" 2010!

Tailor-made training courses
MDF-PI offers all our courses, or elements and combinations thereof, also as tailor-made training courses, which can be delivered at your organization or at any location of your choice. MDF-PI's trainers and consultants
Our team consists of highly experienced Indonesian and expatriate trainers, complemented by a pool of equally experienced "satellite-consultants". These free-lance consultants have worked with MDF for an extensive period and are well-acquainted with MDF's ways of working. This way, MDF-PI can guarantee the quality service delivery of both its own staff as well as its satellite-consultants.

MDF-PI's trainers and consultants are not only experienced in training and consultancy work, but have hands-on experience as project/ program managers, organization and HRM managers and as higher-education teachers. Hence, we can truly say that our staffs, in their fields of experience, really "practice what they preach".
