MDF goes Dutch
Opportunities in the Netherlands
MDF is continuously exploring new possibilities to grow professionally and diversify its activities. Since its establishment in 1984 MDF has been focused with her management activities on the sector of development cooperation. In this field she's become a reputed player. The time has come in which MDF wants to expand to the Dutch market, a non-development cooperation market.
We consider that many of our tools and approaches also can be applied to typical Dutch situations. Recently, the Dutch government has put participation high on the political agenda. We have the means to respond to this trend and can assist decentralised government structures like municipalities and provinces, but also other related actors in Dutch society in shaping participatory processes and translating community desires into policy.
How it started
Since September 2007 one of our staff is seconded to an organisation in Utrecht: Greeven & Van der Ven advies. This organisation aims at working with public and social organisations that strive for participation of all citizens in policy making and project design. There is a simple connection with one of the core activities of MDF: objective oriented project planning (Logical Framework Planning).
By September 2008 MDF will have set up a new branch office. It's mission? It will remain closely related to the general mission of MDF Training & Consultancy, with this exception that her activities will be outside the development cooperation sector.
Portfolio
Our portfolio so far:
- Supporting the Project Management bureau of the Province of Gelderland
- Envisioning Culemborg 2014 (with the municipality and housing association)
- SWOT analysis welfare organisation of youth workers in Utrecht
- Organisational restructuring of Vluchtelingenwerk (Dutch refugee care)
