TESTIMONIALS

“The course gave a clear insight in the way the EU works in its grant management through different financing instruments. Many details were explained on guidelines and regulations, which are directly applicable in our project management. As an auditor I was interested in pitfalls, interpretations of the regulations and tips and tricks how to deal with challenging issues, and the course offered in all cases interesting answers. Furthermore there was a lot of interaction between the trainer and the attendants, and these discussions also led to more insight in the sometimes complex grant guidelines.” E.C. van der Maaten, Internal Auditor - ICCO, The Netherlands - Course on "How to manage an EU grant contract?" - June 2011.

“As an attendee of both modules 1 and 2 of the “Grants in the Framework of EU” courses, I would like to thank MDF for the a wealth of information I have received. I believe the courses will assist my organization, especially in the Asia region, in our preparation to secure EU funding. The courses gave me a good insight of the funding mechanisms as well as the procedures and grants management practiced by EC. Interestingly, the courses are helpful for both current and future grantees. You will be surprised by how much you would be learning from both your instructor and your counterparts from other organisations through interactive discussions!” Vanessa Chong - Diakonia Asia Regional Office, Thailand - June 2011.

“I really enjoyed following the course on "EU Grants - How to manage an EU grant contract?". There was a clear overview of the topics per day, so we knew what we could expect. The content was interesting and explained in an interactive and clear way: for each topic we started with the theoretical part illustrated with examples, there was always time for discussions with the participants and we concluded the session with exercices. Very nice! » L. Mijnhardt - Trias, Belgium - June 2011.

“I'm really satisfied with training, subject is a bit "dry" and it is not easy to keep participants attention for 3 days, however both of you did great job. Concept of training is prepared and presented very well, training consist constant cycle of CPR (content, participation and review). It was small group and it was pleasure to discussed some practical things.” A.B. - Course on “How to manage an EU Grant contract?” - February 2011.

“The 3 day MDF seminar on 'How to obtain EU-funding' gave me a better understanding of the way the EU sees the role of NGO and other Non State Actors in the implementation of its thematic and geographic priorities on development. Understanding the EU program cycle is crucial for obtaining useful information in an early stage, to identify the overlap with our own programs, to be able to decide about our own strategies for fundraising and to prepare ourselves internally for upcoming calls for proposals.
The exchange with people who judge the quality of concept notes and full proposels was very usefull to understand how proposals can be written in order to increase our chances for success in a very competitive environment.
We learned also from the different experiences of colleagues of other NGO who participated in the seminar.” Erik Van Mele - Oxfam-Solidarity, Belgium - January 2011.

“I have recently attended a seminar on “How to obtain EU funding? Opportunities for Non Governmental Organisation” at MDF Brussels. The seminar was very interesting with good facilitation (thanks Grégoire and Cecilia!) and experience sharing with colleagues. I now feel able to look easily and quickly for the right information on EU grants and to support my colleagues in writing good concept notes and full proposal according to EU standards. I would definitely recommend this seminar for the staff dealing with EU grants issues.” Antoine Hauzeur,  Institutional Partnership Coordinator - SOS Children’s Villages - January 2011.

“Hope in the future you may be offering other programmes that our staff can benefit from as we certainly appreciated the course, your excellent way of bringing forward the course content and sharing your knowledge. Despite having to brace the extreme harsh weather in Europe at this time of the year having travelled from a tropical country, the courses in procurement procedure and managing EC contracts were excellently executed and provided me a wealth of knowledge which I can share with others and apply in my everyday practice.” Hermia James, Ministry of Finance, Grenada - December 2010.
