Facilitating processes
Besides delivering training courses, MDF Brussels also advises organisations and facilitates processes in the following three fields:
Results Based Management
Project cycle management
Management is challenging and fascinating, even
more so in a multicultural setting. Project Cycle Management is a well-established and proven method for the adequate
management of programmes and projects. It raises the quality of programming and decision-making by providing a
management system that is shared and owned by all stakeholders. As such, it facilitates better
management of individual interventions, as well as a more effective and efficient management of entire portfolios. In
PCM, the design process is the key for a successful implementation stage. We facilitate planning workshops and assist
organisations with the design processes of projects and programmes by using the logical framework approach so that
objectives are clearly stated and progress and performance indicators identified.
Management for Development Results
Since the international round tables in Marrakech and Paris on results and aid effectiveness, the development community
has been focusing on managing its work to achieve the maximum results. This has led to a growing interest in questions
related to changing organisations and their institutional context and making them more result-oriented, by linking
planning and budgeting, defining results, monitoring progress and take appropriate decisions to actually achieving the
desired development results. We assist organisations in this process by facilitating workshops and giving advice on how
to develop a results based management system in practice.
Human and Organisational Development
Human Resources Management (HRM)
The performance of an organisation directly depends on the availability of qualified and committed staff. Human
resources are for a lot of organisations the most important asset they have. Development organisations deal with many
different people, situations and an ever-changing context. In a setting with many stakeholders, collaboration and
genuine teamwork are crucial to achieve common goals in an effective and efficient manner. In order to have personnel
that dedicates 100 percent of their capacity to the organisation's goals, management needs to be based on guiding rather
than directing, empowering rather than controlling, and allowing people to learn from instead of punishing them for
their mistakes. A solid HRM policy and system are essential for the effective functionning of your organisation. MDF
Brussels offers assistance in their development and implementation. We can help you developing the most appropriate
structure for your organisation and provide advice in skills required to manage staff effectively.
Institutional Development and Organisational Strengthening (IDOS)
We developed a wide range of advisory services and workshops in the field of institutional development and
organisational strengthening. These two concepts are two sides of the same coin and cannot be seen separately. While in
organisational strengthening we are mainly looking at the internal change processes within organisations, institutional
development is focussed on how organisations change to maintain their relevance and impact in the wider context of
society. All our actions in different degrees are aimed at achieving impact and change at this wider institutional
level.
We can provide knowledge, skills and expertise if needed but we cannot and will not take over the organisational challenge to create change. With our strong track record in participatory techniques, we facilitate the management of an organisation to mobilise and focus the motivation and energy of the individuals working in it, to gain strength and effectiveness in its operations and it will be able to explore new roads.
EU Specific Development Themes
In our EU specific development themes, we can provide tailor-made courses in combination with facilitating discussions and specific questions related to these themes. We also guide organisations through the process of proposal writing for the EU.
If you are interested in our facilitating services, we suggest you to contact us
and we will be happy to discuss the further needs of your organisation on tailor made basis.
